History
The building of the hotel is a protected technical monument where production of decorative and household ceramics was located. Its base is the town fortification system with bastion from 1610. The establishment of Ceramic school in 1883 was of high social value. In the same year a Cassel type kiln was built. It is probably the last kiln of this kind preserved in the original state. The authors of the reconstruction are presenting it in the museum part of the hotel together with other historic period tools for the manufacture of ceramic products. The school existed for 7 years, then the joint stock company was created, which was later converted to Slovac Folk Majolica. In 1972 the present structure of Slovak Folk Majolica was built, but this began to decay little by little...
